Our Mission

At Word of God Academy, we aim to build a Christ-centered school that equips students academically and spiritually to impact their communities.

The ultimate goal for our athletes is to produce quality citizens who will go on to lead in their generation while loving God and others. We help you achieve greatness with a high sports-focused IQ and polished skills. When it all comes together, our teams win more because we cultivate a winning mentality and a team-first culture.

Joe Brown

Principal

Mr. Brown has led the Word of God Christian Academy with purpose and tenacity. His vision for the athletic program is to build team-focused, student-athletes who keep faith and sportsmanship as core values. 

​

Bringing in a new Athletic Director, mental health professionals, and several new coaches to help do just that. He is building a tenured coaching and development staff that has professional, collegiate, and national high school recognition. 

​

With this support, Mr. Brown has high confidence in the direction the program is heading and is excited to see the growth and development of the program and student-athletes.

Marqus Johnson

Athletic Director/ Head Coach Varsity Boys

Coach Johnson comes to the Word of God Athletics program with over 20 years of semi-professional and collegiate coaching experience.

 

Recently coach Johnson guided the Saint Augustine University (SAU), Falcons to a second-place finish in the CIAA Southern Division and the quarterfinal round of the CIAA Tournament. The Falcons reached the quarterfinal round for the first time since 2010.

Our Confrence

At Word of God Athletics, we take pride in our commitment to excellence both on and off the field. As a member of the Carolina Athletics Association for Schools of Choice (CAA4SC) at the high school level, we compete against some of the top schools in the region.

 

Our Middle School program is highly respected and competes with the CIAC. Our coaches bring a wealth of experience and training to the table, and our facilities are among the best in the area. Join our team and become part of a winning tradition!
